FAQ

General Question

A. The Tokyo Hustler Pool League (a group of at least 30 or more “people”) will play in all areas within the Tokyo metropolitan. Idealistically will be scheduled on Wednesdays, but can be adjusted for any day and time where enough members to form teams for a league.

A. Each player will ultimately have a skill rating (SR) based on the players scores in their win/loss history. The end result is a league system which fits all needs, with an easy to understand and use, league system which combines player skill ratings to result in fun, fair, and honest pool play for all. And we are actively seeking the ideas and desires of the players, and change when those desires dictate the need.

A. If the player is rated in another league, that rating can be used as a basis for a skill rating in the Tokyo Hustler Pool League. If the player is new to league play, there is a test that can be administered so that a “base” rating may be used until the player’s average is established. Skill ratings “MAY” change at any time if “sleepers” are lying down.

A. The Tokyo Hustler Pool League uses a unique scoring system that handicaps the games according to the difference in the various players’ skill ratings. For example, two players play a match of 5 games. Points are awarded for each ball pocketed and for each game won. The winner of the match is the player who, after the handicap is applied, accumulates more points in the match. So simple!

Other type of questions

A. There is a 8,000yen per season fee for playing in one full/complete season (including playoffs and special events) along with a end of season banquet and awards ceremony. All special tournaments, players pay 2,000yen entry fee (the league will add more prize money to this tournament from money paid at the start of the season) each time played. We want to give out lots of prize money! Of course, with the exact amount varying, depending on “the leagues” arrangements. (Operating expenses are NOT calculated on a percentage basis. Just flat fees!)

A. The Nagoya International Pool League uses the “World Standardized Rules“, as published by the BCA. With a few exceptions to accommodate special circumstances.

A. The Tokyo Hustler Pool League is owned and operated by Paperbag Entertainment LLC, which is a non-profit activity(all money will be returned to the league members by: tournament payouts, awards & banquet costs). Paperbag Entertainment will be responsible for “collecting”, and “calculating” all team score sheets weekly. Additionally, seeking other sponsors to solidify The Tokyo Hustler Pool League and to have fun in.
